Review:
Plot: 4
Characters: 3
Writing: 3,5

To All the Boys I've Loved Before is the first book in a 2-book serie. Lara Jean is your typical cute, sweet and shy girl next door. The book starts off with some details about her life and what is going on at the moment. Her Mother has passed away when she was young and she and her older sister Margot basically took care of their younger sister Kitty.
When Margot moves away for collage, Lara Jean has to take over her role as the older sister in the house. When she come to school a few days later the boys that she written letters to, come up to her to talk to her an see if she has an explenation for the sudden love letters.

Thoughout the story she struggles with what to do without her sister at home, her crush on her sister's ex-boyfriend and the 'pretent-boyfriend' Peter. Peter is one of the boys that she wrote a love letter to when she was in middle school. Peter is your typical handsome jog in high school. He is popular, has alot of friends and has a mean ex-girlfriend who he is trying to make jealous. When Josh gets his letter and is trying to talk to Lara Jean about it, she makes up a lie that she is dating Peter.. When she sees him she jumps him and kisses him. This is how the story of Lara Jean's lovelife begins.

The story is written in a fast past, its a light read and there isn't much depth in it, which makes it a quick read. Also it is written in a way that you want to read more, eventhough your not that invested in the story. The chapters are also quite short sometimes, a few were even one page long. Just to give you some quick information.

The characters were a little bit boring sometimes. I had liked to know a bit more about the other characters, but you were only given Lara Jean's opinion about them, or some small details that were required for the story to progress.
Lara Jean is sometimes a little annoying, just because she is your typical young adult main character. She doesn't do things on her own, but is always with that 'special' someone on her mind. Sometimes thoughout the story i wanted to pick her up and shake her, just so she would wake up and do something about the circumstances that she was in.
Kitty in my opinion was a little know-it-all, what is expected of a younger sister.. but I would have liked to see a little bit more. Margot wasn't really in the picture, but when she was she was behaving like a mother, what also is expected of the oldest sister when the mother dies. As for Josh, he was a sweet and geeky guy. He was/is Lara Jean's best friend. I find it disappointing that the other characters didn't really get more of a story line. I would have liked to see other point of view, for example i would like to see the point of view from Peter and also Genevieve (ex-girlfriend)..

Overal it was a enjoyble read, a little bit cheesy but cute. 3/5 Stars!

Love, Hedi
