After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one.

Now, it's the dawn of the 5th wave, and on a lonely stretch of highway, Cassie runs from Them. The beings who only look human, who roam the countryside killing anyone they see. Who have scattered Earth's last survivors. To stay alone is to stay alive, Cassie believes, until she meets Evan Walker. Beguiling and mysterious, Evan Walker may be Cassie's only hope for rescuing her brother-or even saving herself. But Cassie must choose: between trust and despair, between defiance and surrender, between life and death. To give up or to get up.

Review:
This was my very first Alien book and i really enjoyed it! Mostly i go for Fantasy and Contemporary but when this book turnt into a movie i really wanted to watch it. That movie was amazing though and so i came to reading the book. I know, that is not the way to do it as a booklover, but some times you cant help yourself.

Cassie is a girl a lot of people can relate to. She tries to survive on her own whill trying to save her little brother. She trust no one. Then she meets Evan and she is put of by the way he is taking care of her. She doesn't know if she can trust him or if she should run. Eventhough the earth is invaded by the others, Cassie still finds time to wonder about her love life. Which i found very wierd considdering the surcumstances.

The writing was good, but sometimes it felt flat. I couldn't get into the moment or things were dragged on to long for my liking. Also the nicknames were sometimes confiousing, but because i saw the movie before i new most of them and which person was which.

I liked the way the point of views were done, everytime you came acros a black page you knew a different point of view was going to come. And some things i found very predictable, like the thing with Evan. I saw that coming a long time!

The book is good, but in some points i like the movie better. Like the relationship with her parents and that every teen under the age of 20 way pick up in stat of every kid under the age of 16. But it is a really good story and im looking forward to the second book!
